The recently completed pipeline will need to have some gas inside before it can start full transport operations, with the process of filling the pipe with buffer gas expected to continue for about one month, according to the Nord Stream consortium.
The company added that after the completion of all preparatory works at both ends of the pipeline in Russia and Germany, gas will start flowing through Nord Stream to customers in Europe in October.
