Chinese power utility Guangdong Yudean Power has started construction of a liquefied natural gas terminal at Yangjiang in Guangdong province, writes Xu Yihe.

The terminal with annual capacity of 2 million tonnes will largely handle imports from third parties under terminal use agreements.

It will be built at a cost of 4.5 billion yuan ($714 million) by Guangdong Yangjiang Lingwan LNG Company, a 50:50 joint venture between Guangdong Yudean and Pacific Oil & Gas (PO&G).
