According to Gambia's Commissioner for Petroleum Exploration&Production, Fafa Sanyang, the planned probe will target the Alhamdulilah four-way dip closure, claimed to host up to 995 million barrels of potential crude reserves.
Sanyang, and Gambia's civil service chief Teneng Jaiteh, are promoting vacant shallow-water blocks 2, 3, 5 and 6, along with the country's long-neglected onshore acreage in which Norwegian and Malaysian explorers have expressed interest.
