Industry sources revealed the oil giant is in the process of evaluating technical offers for at least four LNG ships plus a series of options. It is expected to call shipyards in for meetings shortly.
Sources indicated BP is looking for conventional size ships of slightly under the 160,000-cbm mark and a delivery schedule between 2007 and 2009. But they added it remains open to larger ships and is not yet firm on the exact details of its requirements.
