Nexen Petroleum is targeting first oil from the second development phase of its prolific Buzzard field off the UK in less than three years, after the partners sanctioned the new scheme.
The operator, controlled by China’s CNOOC Ltd, and its partners at Buzzard this week dished out contract awards after confirming full sanction for the scheme, with UK regulator the Oil & Gas Authority also approving the field development plan.
