BW OFFSHORE has started recovery operations on the stricken Cidade de Sao Mateus floating production, storage and offloading unit after concluding an accident investigation in partnership with Brazilian operator Petrobras.
The incident occurred on 11 February when a gas explosion ripped through the FPSO, causing the deaths of nine of the 74 crew members. Recovery teams only managed to find the last of the bodies on 2 March.
