Norwegian operator BW Energy intends to carry out a phased development at the recently acquired Maromba heavy oil field in the Campos basin off Brazil by re-deploying the Berge Helene floating production, storage and offloading vessel, writes Fabio Palmigiani.
The Maromba shallow-water development will feature a total of 10 development wells, but Upstream understands that BW is looking to initially drill a pair of oil producers to test the reservoir before ramping up output from the field.
