Oslo-listed BW Offshore has won a one-year extension from Petrobras for its BW Cidade de Sao Vicente floating production, storage and offloading vessel after the pair faced environmental permitting delays off Brazil.

Petrobras intends to use the floater to carry out an extended well test at the deep-water Farfan field in the Sergipe-Alagoas basin, but permits were delayed due to concerns about the spread of an invasive species of coral to new regions along the Brazilian coast.
