Brazil’s antitrust regulator Cade has given Norwegian oil giant Statoil the green light for its planned acquisition of a 25% working interest in the Roncador field from Petrobras for $2.9 billion.
The deal will also see Statoil assisting Petrobras in providing technologies to improve the recovery factor at the Campos basin field.
The deal is still pending approval from the Brazilian National Petroleum Agency.
