Cairn Energy has chartered the semi-submersible Island Innovator to drill a wildcat on its Duncan prospect in the Norwegian North Sea.
The Island Drilling-owned rig is set to spud the well in production licence 880 in the second quarter of next year.
No dayrate was disclosed, but the rig is estimated to be earning $210,000 a day for the firm charter, according to Bassoe Analytics.
