The operator earlier estimated discovered in-place reserves on its Rajasthan acreage, including the Mangala field, at 3.6 billion barrels of oil equivalent, while consultants DeGolyer&MacNaughton put the figure at 3.4 billion boe.
Cairn is still targeting production start-up in 2009 from its Mangala oilfield in Rajasthan although the project has yet to secure land access in the state and neighbouring Gujarat to build the crude export pipeline.
