Cameroon lawmakers have completed reviewing a new petroleum code and sent the bill to the senate for confirmation and submission to President Paul Biya for signature.
There will very likely be a new law in force within a fortnight, according to a source close to the process who was partly responsible for initiating the reforms.
It is understood the reforms, which will not be retroactive, will govern the licensing and acreage awards process from this year onwards.
