In its annual Petroleum Reserves Report, the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (Capp) said Canada's supplies of conventional crude oil, bitumen and natural gas liquids rose 3.3% from 1999 to 12.3 billion barrels of oil equivalent in 2000.
Capp attributed the increase to strong commodity prices that prompted record drilling.
The bulk of the increase came from new discoveries and additions to existing fields in Saskatchewan where oil reserves climbed 7.7%
