The state government is in full panic mode and millions of dollars are being invested on a biological weapon to kill the pests. Even community groups are being funded by the state to help combat the toad invasion.

The cane toad is poisonous in all its life stages, from egg to adult. Adult cane toads produce venom from glands on their upper surface, but especially from bulging glands on their shoulders that react when the toad is provoked.
