The Cape Vulture prospect in production licence 128, spudded in early December, turned out to contain between 20 million and 80 million barrels of oil equivalent in two Cretaceous drilling targets in the Lange formation.
Located only five kilometres north-west of Norne, Statoil and partners Petoro and Eni plan to further appraise the discovery, and will consider developing it as a tie-back to the Norne floating production, storage and offloading vessel.
