OSRL is an industry-owned co-operative and the largest global provider of oil spill response and preparedness services.
OSRL is collaborating with The Subsea Well Response Project (SWRP), formed by nine oil and gas companies — including BP, Shell, Chevron, Petrobras and Statoil — to make a new intervention system available to industry.
The capping stacks will be capable of containing subsea oil wells in water depths up to 10,000 feet.
