Chief executive Brian Ferguson addressed speculation the company would consider following in the footsteps of its predecessor, Encana, with a spin-off of its 4.5 million net acres of fee lands — accounting for about 50% of its total conventional production.
“We owe it to our shareholders to evaluate the options to increase the value of our own royalty land. We’ve been focused on ensuring that we understand the potential that exists on our lands and the impact to the company of any actions taken to crystallise value,” said Ferguson during a second-quarter conference call.
