Canada's Cenovus Energy has set its sights on eliminating greenhouse gas emissions from its oil sands operations in northern Alberta with new technology.
Having cut emissions by one-third since 2004, and with plans to reduce them by another third between 2016 and 2026, Cenovus chief executive Brian Ferguson is reluctant to assign a timeline to its ambitious goal of zero emissions but is confident such a target can be achieved.
