European seismic specialist CGG has begun a new 3D acquisition programme in Oklahoma's Anadarko basin, a region of growing interest for seismic surveying, writes Caroline Evans.

The 306-square mile (792-square kilometre) Chickasha Extension programme will build on and enhance CGG’s existing coverage of more than 1200 square miles over the prolific Scoop and Stack plays.

"High-end imaging will provide a better understanding of the complex geology in this area, including enhanced definition of the Meramec, Osage and Woodford plays," CGG said.
