Wang Tao, COOEC’s executive vice president who oversees the company’s international business, is expected to be promoted to president of the engineering and construction department of CNOOC.
CNOOC’s engineering and construction department spearheads the fabrication of offshore projects. If promoted, Wang will replace the retiring Yang Shubo.
Sources said COOEC has confirmed Wang’s shift to CNOOC, but the announcement stopped short of naming him as president of CNOOC’s engineering and construction department.
