Financed by the Abidjan-based African Development Bank, plans include facilities for oil platform repair work and the servicing of offshore vessels in need of maintenance, according to Chantier Naval general manager Zaccheus Forjindam.

Five short-listed companies must submit their proposals to Chantier Naval for the control and supervision work before 18 March, when bids will be opened.

In the running are German consultant Lackner & Partners, the Dutch-based Royal Haskoning Group, UK companies Mott MacDonald and Scot Wilson, and two French contenders, BCEOM-SCET and PI Engineering.
