CHESAPEAKE Energy is shifting its attention to the emerging Stack play in Oklahoma, where it plans to run more rigs and drill more wells than anywhere else onshore US.
Oklahoma City-based Chesapeake will run two or three rigs to drill 40 to 50 wells in the Stack play, where operators are primarily targeting the emerging Meramec tight oil play with exploration potential in other horizons such as the Oswego and Osage, in addition to the more traditional Woodford Shale target.
