US independent Chesapeake Energy will target the Utica shale in an upcoming well in north-eastern Pennsylvania, the company’s first test of the formation in that area of the play, writes Luke Johnson.
The well, which is expected to be spudded in early 2018 in Bradford County, comes as Chesapeake looks to complete between $2 billion and $3 billion in asset sales this year and next.
