US supermajor Chevron and French oil giant Total are both tendering for rigs in South America, giving some hope to drilling contractors that bidding activity in the region may be slowly coming back to life.
Chevron approached the market earlier this year with a tender to charter a drilling rig to spud new development wells at the Frade heavy oil field in the Campos basin off Brazil.
