Chevron has enlisted Kiewit Offshore Services in Ingleside, Texas to rebuild tendons damaged in the failed installation of the Big Foot tension-leg platform in the US Gulf of Mexico last summer.
The operator has not elaborated on the number of tendons that would be rebuilt, but at least nine of the 16 were damaged when buoyancy modules detached in strong currents last June leaving the mooring lines to fall to the ocean floor.
