Chevron is set to make a decision as soon as the end of this month on which yard or yards will construct a semi-submersible facility for its Anchor development in the deep-water US Gulf of Mexico.

The US supermajor is weighing up two options, the first of which would see the construction of the topsides in the US at Kiewit Offshore Services in Ingleside, Texas, and the hull in Asia, with Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering lined up for the job.
