First steel was cut on the hull on 16 October at Technip's Pori, Finland fabrication yard one day ahead of schedule, according to the operator. The 24,000-tonne spar hull will measure about 170 metres in length and have a diameter of 39 metres.

Two days later, and one month ahead of schedule, first steel was cut for the topsides modules at Technip's Gulf Marine Fabricators yard near Corpus Christi, Texas.
