US supermajor Chevron is drilling an exploration well north-east of the Total-operated North Platte field in the Garden Banks area of the deep-water US Gulf, writes Kathrine Schmidt.
As of the end of May, the Chevron and Total partnership on the block was joined by Anglo-Dutch supermajor Shell on a 25% stake.
Chevron has had the Transocean drillship Discoverer Inspiration onsite on Garden Banks Block 913 at the Kingsholm prospect since early June.
