Chevron has finished drilling a second appraisal well at the Ballymore discovery in the deep-water US Gulf of Mexico that is expected to be a key determinant in evaluating the volume of the promising Norphlet find, though no details of results have been given.
The US supermajor has moved the drillship Pacific Sharav off the prospect in Mississippi Canyon 607, with the rig now on site at the Jack field in Walker Ridge 802.
