US supermajor Chevron has decided to replace a 16-year-old floating storage and offloading vessel in the Gulf of Thailand with a newly-converted unit which is currently the subject of a bidding contest.
The Benchamas Explorer FSO has been operating in Block B8/32 since 1999. For the first 10 years it operated under a lease arrangement with Tanker Pacific Offshore Terminals, now known as Omni Offshore.
