Villa Maria Irina in Cap Martin on the French Riviera has been widely valued at between $50 million and $250 million.
Chigirinsky bought the villa in 2005 from the French government, which seized it after the death of previous owner, Mobutu Sese Seko, former president and dictator of Zaire, today known as the Democratic Republic of Congo.
During the short period of ownership, Villa Maria Irina has become well-known among Moscow glitterati, investment bankers and Russian government officials.
