Chinese yards are emerging as strong contenders to build topsides for the second floating production, storage and offloading vessel being built at Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS) under SBM Offshore’s Fast4Ward concept.
Industry officials said that yards including SWS, China's Offshore Oil Engineering Company and Bomesc Offshore Engineering have expressed interest to the Dutch floater specialist in engineering, procurement and construction work for the topsides of the second Fast4Ward FPSO.
