China has urged Russian state-owned oil company Rosneft to stop drilling on a block awarded by Vietnam that Beijing has said is on acreage it regards as being in its jurisdiction, writes Xu Yihe.
“We urge relevant parties to earnestly respect China’s sovereign and jurisdictional rights and not do anything that could impact bilateral relations or this region’s peace and stability,” a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said.
