US contractor InterMoor has won a contract to provide deep-water mooring systems for a pair of floaters at two CNOOC Ltd-operated fields in the South China Sea.

InterMoor will install the systems on the Lingshui 17-2 gas field and the Liuhua 16-2 oilfield under a sub-contract from CNOOC subsidiary Offshore Oil Engineering Company.

The Liuhua 16-2 turret-moored floating production, storage and offloading unit will be anchored in waters of between 390 and 420 metres using nine suction pile anchors with chain-wire-chain-legs, InterMoor said.
