Privately-held UK oil company Chrysaor has made an oil discovery at its Mustard prospect in the East Solan basin, west of the Shetland Islands.

It is currently unclear how successful the 205/27-3 well, drilled about 15 kilometres east of the ­Solan field being developed by Premier Oil but also discovered by Chrysaor, is turning out to be.

However, Phil Kirk, chief executive of Chrysaor, told Upstream: “I can confirm (Mustard) is an oil discovery”.
