Chrysaor’s $2.68 billion deal to take the UK exploration and production assets of ConocoPhillips has made the private equity-backed player the top producer in the UK North Sea this year.

The company, backed by EIG Global Partners, late last week unveiled its agreement to acquire assets from the US independent, including operated hubs in the central North Sea as well as a hold in the Clair field area in the West of Shetland area.
