CHINA International Marine Containers (CIMC) and China Merchants Heavy Industry (CMHI) are in advanced talks about merging their offshore engineering assets.
The move is an attempt to consolidate their position in China’s rig building industry and make them better equipped to compete for international projects.
China-based industry officials said the talks will likely see the incorporation of a super offshore engineering giant.
