The latest public attitudes tracker from the UK’s Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) has suggested that anti-fracking sentiment is on the rise, reflecting increased concerns about climate change, writes Anamaria Deduleasa.

The monthly survey showed that 78% of the public were aware of hydraulic fracturing, a stable proportion over the last five years.

However, while 45% said they neither supported nor opposed shale gas, the tracker reported an increase in the number of people opposed to shale gas extraction.
