Cloud hanging over talks on Iranian NIOC LNG scheme

"The negotiations may not succeed," Rokneddin Javadi, managing director of the National Iranian Gas Export Company (Nigec), said of the talks the state company has been having with BG for more than two years.

BG chief executive Frank Chapman recently renewed his company's public commitment to the NIOC LNG scheme, saying that he was hopeful of an eventual agreement over the $2 billion scheme and did not expect political considerations, such as US pressure, to dictate a decision.
