India's Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) approved the field development plan for Block KG-DWN-98/2’s Cluster 2 area in 2016, with the proposal covering the asset's northern discovery area.
The northern part of the block has close to a dozen oil and gas discoveries, while the southern portion hosts UD-1, the country’s only ultra-deep-water gas discovery.
The block's oil and gas discoveries have been categorised into three areas — Cluster 1, Cluster 2 and Cluster 3.
