CNOOC Ltd has endorsed production sharing partner Husky Energy’s proposal to develop the third phase of the Liwan 3-1 deep-water project in the South China Sea, paving the way for the first gas in 2017.
Sources said that CNOOC has given its backing for Liwan’s new development, also known as Liuhua 29-1, after it made significant progress in gas sales negotiations.
