China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) has revived a plan from early this decade to build a liquefied natural gas import terminal at Binhai in eastern China’s Jiangsu province, writes Xu Yihe.

CNOOC’s decision making and investment committee has just endorsed the project to go ahead, after a seven-year delay.

The 11.5 billion yuan (US$1.7 billion) project will involve building an LNG terminal, an onshore tank farm and export pipelines.
