China’s CNOOC Ltd has launched an exercise to pre-qualify contractors for the provision of a subsea production system (SPS) as it looks to redevelop its Lufeng 22-1 oilfield as part of a overall plan to exploit a cluster of South China Sea fields.

Sources said CNOOC Ltd sent out pre-qualification documents to a number of international vendors, including UK-based TechnipFMC, Aker Solutions of Norway and Schlumberger-owned OneSubsea.
