China's CNOOC Ltd is preparing to drill three deep-water exploration wells next year on acreage in the Perdido area off Mexico awarded by the National Hydrocarbons Commission (CNH) regulator.
Of the three wells, two will be drilled on Contractual Area 1 and one on Contractual Area 4.
Sources said the company has not yet finalised the drilling schedule, as it needs to carry out more pre-drilling work, such as site surveys.
