CNOOC International — CNOOC's overseas division — is moving ahead with plans to expand its Long Lake oil sands project in Alberta, aiming to commission the Canadian scheme's new facilities next year.
Chinese contractor Offshore Oil Engineering Company (COOEC) is on track to complete all the modules needed for the expansion project next month.
The expansion involves building three new well pads that will incorporate 36 production wells capable of increasing production by 30,000 barrels per day.
