China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) is wrapping up feasibility studies on the potential development for its Lingshui 17-2 gas find in the Qiongdongnan basin of the South China Sea, focusing on two options — one of which involves a deep-water semi-submersible platform and the other a shallow-water central equipment platform.
The company is expected to send a nine-member project team involved in the study work to Houston in mid- to late June where they will compare notes and seek advice from big name offshore engineering contractors and houses including Technip, SBM, KBR-GVA and Singapore’s Keppel (Floatec), sources said.
