China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) and the Niger government have agreed contractual terms for a 1892-kilometre pipeline to carry oil from the country’s Agadem rift basin to Benin, writes Iain Esau.
According to London-listed Savannah Petroleum, which has made a number of oil discoveries in acreage adjacent to CNPC’s assets in Niger and aims to access the pipeline, the transportation convention was signed on 15 September.
