Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has won a second four-year term, although his party has lost the majority in the nation’s parliament, a move that will likely pressure the administration to form a coalition with a more left-leaning party with a greener take on energy policy.
Trudeau’s Liberal Party fell 13 seats short of securing a majority in the 338-member parliament with 33% of the vote, losing 26 seats to the Conservatives.
