Proposition Initiative 82, which was filed in February, was the first of a series of ballot proposals aimed at changing the way Colorado oversees drilling.
Proponents chose to abandon the measure after changes to the language made through a state legal review, according to local reports. All the proposals require citizens to gather signatures totalling at least 5% of the votes cast in the previous state-wide election.
