US Federal regulators have signalled that they expect to make a decision on whether to approve the planned Commonwealth liquefied natural gas terminal in Louisiana by the end of next year, writes Caroline Evans.

According to a schedule released by the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (Ferc), the panel plans to issue a final environmental impact statement on the project by 2 October 2020, with a decision deadline set 90 days later on 31 December of the same year.
